Setting Sails: A Wind Class Refresh

Windstar has always been known for our iconic sailing ships. Now, we’re giving our Wind Class exciting new updates with our multi-million-dollar Setting Sails initiative, which runs through 2027.

The two-part initiative brings the tight-knit connection of the Windstar community to the forefront through the redesign of public spaces and staterooms.

In 2023, Wind Star completed the first phase of her redesign, with a revamped lobby, brand-new pool and whirlpool, expanded pool bar, redesigned lounge, updated gym and spa areas, and more.

In 2024, our 342-guest Wind Surf underwent her own exciting upgrades to common areas, including the main restaurant Amphora, the pool deck and bar, the Yacht Club Café, and much more.

Our third sailing yacht, Wind Spirit, will start phase one of her upgrade in 2025. All three Wind Class yachts will undergo the second upgrade phase — stateroom redesigns — across 2026 and 2027.

The multi-million dollar project encompasses a full redesign of many public spaces with new layouts, furniture, wall and floor coverings, lighting, and custom art to name a few, as well as Premium Suite improvements.

New technology will be added throughout including new interactive TVs in all guest staterooms.

Windstar invites you to join us on this next chapter for our beloved Wind Class. Be one of the first to experience our upgraded sailing yachts — reserve your next cruise today!

“The design inspiration really developed from the yachts themselves. I studied classic and modern yacht architecture to develop the sophisticated design foundation, then went on to add pops of fun and peeks of relief. The pops of fun and relief were inspired by our sails, the sea, the cities we visit, and our guests. The goal of design is always to optimize functionality, which is when the spaces really started to be built around the purpose. Stepping into the lobby as you embark is about feeling a sense of stepping onto your own private yacht but experiencing the service of a luxury boutique hotel.”
