As the main city on Grand Bahama Island, Freeport is known for its Deadman's Reef, a popular snorkeling and diving site, the Lucaya District, full of beaches, resorts, and duty-free shopping and Lucayan National Park with its extensive underwater caves, good kayaking, and nature trails.Their recent redevelopment now also offers golf, gambling. Water sports, nightclubs, and fishing.

Freeport is the tourist centre on Grand Bahama Island.
